How to Get Rid of Tan Lines
If you have gone out tanning in the sun, it is not
uncommon to have tan lines. Unless you have been fortunate enough to be able
to tan somewhere clothing optional, you have likely had to wear at least a
bathing suit when you have gone out tanning, and that bathing suit means
that you have created tan lines.
Getting rid of these tan lines can be tricky. You
should first ask yourself if removing these tan lines is necessary. Some
people find tan lines to be sexy, as they indicate the massive changes in
your skin color. But if you are determined to get rid of your tan lines,
there are several methods you can employ.
Tan Line Removal Tips
1.
Sunless Tanning
One option you can use is to find a good sunless
tanning product and apply it only to your tan line areas. This will allow
you to get rid of these tan lines without having to expose these un-tanned
areas of your body to harmful UV rays. Find a shade that matches your
current tan and apply it regularly, and you should be able to give the
impression that you do not have tan lines despite avoiding exposing your
skin to the sun.
2.
Tanning Booths
Another option you have is to use tanning booths.
Tanning booths will allow you to control the tanning process so that you can
gradually improve the tan on your tan lines. However, you have to be very
careful. You cannot simply step inside a tanning booth and expect your tan
lines to go away. These areas of your skin have not been exposed to UV rays,
which makes them far more likely to burn and peel. Even if you can normally
withstand 20 minutes in harsh UV rays without burning, these tan-less areas
of your skin will not be ready to experience that much exposure.
If you use a tanning booth you have two options:
·
Tan your entire body slowly and allow
your tan lines to catch up to your dark skin.
·
Tan only the areas of your body that
have tan lines.
Entire Body
If you choose to tan your entire body, you should
be careful. Remember that your skin can easily burn. Your best bet is to
spend about 5 minutes at most tanning nude in the tanning booth, then put
the clothes that created the tan back on in order to avoid burning. Only
after your skin starts to tan is it safe to allow them longer exposure to
the tanning booth.
Specific Areas
Another option is to spend only a short time in the
tanning booth, tanning the specific areas of your body that are lacking a
tan. To do this, you will need to wear clothes or use tanning booth safe
sunscreen and place it over every part of your body that already has a tan.
Then allow yourself to slowly tan the areas of your body with tan lines.
This can be risky, however, because if you fail to cover a tan part of your
body, you risk it becoming darker than the rest of your tan.
Combination of Both
Finally, another option is to combine both methods,
by trying to remove your tan lines in a tanning booth but using a tanning
lotion for any area of your skin that you could not tan correctly. Whatever
you choose, removing tan lines can be difficult, so make sure that you are
certain you want them gone before you start tanning.
